About Us

Florida Advanced Gastroenterology Center is a medical office that provides area residents with a resource for the latest advances in patient care. Dr. Imad Nakshabendi is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a Gastroenterology Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and a Member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Nakshabendi completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia and finished his research and fellowship at the University of South Florida. He is dedicated to diagnosing and treating disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, pancreas, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, and colon. From diagnosis to treatment and prevention, Dr. Imad Nakshabendi is committed to preserving, improving, and promoting your well-being and health.

With over 30 years’ experience and having completed over 50,000 gastrointestinal procedures, Dr. Imad Nakshabendi is happy to provide the best quality care for his many satisfied patients, as well as residents within the Tampa Bay Area.

Dr. Imad Nakshabendi is affiliated with Tampa General Hospital, AdventHealth Tampa, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, Brandon Regional Hospital, and South Bay Hospital. He is also affiliated with many surgery centers including the Brandon Surgery Center, Ambulatory Surgery Center of Tampa, and the Outpatient Surgery Center at the TGH Brandon Healthplex.

Dr. Rahman (Ray) Nakshabendi grew up in Tampa and left in 2005 to pursue his passion in the field of medicine and gastroenterology, and subspecialize further in interventional/advanced gastroenterology. During his training, he graduated as valedictorian with honors and received multiple awards at both national and international conferences. After completing his advanced fellowship training, he served as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina before returning back to his hometown of Tampa.

Dr. Ray is excited and devoted to giving back to his community and to providing the best care possible to you at a professional and personable level.

Dr. Ahmad Al Nakshabandi completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He continued to advance his expertise by undertaking an additional fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the largest top-ranking comprehensive cancer center in the US.

Dr. Al Nakshabandi's commitment to employing cutting-edge technology and advanced endoscopic techniques is unwavering. His commitment to procedural innovation and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in advanced therapeutic endoscopy is a cornerstone of his expertise. He actively engages in ongoing research and publications and is a peer-reviewer for the iGIE journal.

In his leisure time, Dr. Al Nakshabandi enjoys spending time with his wife and children, restoring cars, playing the guitar, reading, and hiking outdoors.
